Work is ramping up across the state to remove more level crossings, with the latest designs released for Ringwood East.
The state government will remove two crossings at Dublin Rd and Bedford Rd, and build a new Ringwood East station, with construction to begin next year and be complete by 2025.
Both level crossings will be removed by building rail trenches, to run trains under the roads.
The government is also removing the Coolstore Rd, Croydon crossing and building a new station, with work also to be completed by 2025, making the Lilydale line crossing free.
Work is also continuing on the controversial removal of the Surrey Hills and Mont Albert crossings, with residents fearing the new “superstation” will be built just metres from their homes.
The project is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.
Residents have also raised concerns about plans to build sky rail in Parkdale, with the level crossings at Warrigal and Parkers Rd to be removed by 2025.
Residents are still able to have their say on the plans.
Construction will also start this year on removing the Webb St Narre Warren crossing, with a rail bridge to be built over the road, while the Gap Road level crossing in Sunbury will be removed with a road under rail design.
The level crossings at Neerim Rd and Glen Huntly Rd in Glen Huntly are also getting the boot, with both to be removed by lowering the rail line into a trench, with work set to be complete by next year.
Check out before and after photos of some of the planned level crossing removals.
