The Western Ring Road has reopened in both directions after a truck rollover scattered bitumen across the surface.
The freeway was closed between Airport Drive and the Calder Freeway for about four hours today following a collision between the truck and three cars.
The truck clipped a light pole about 11am and lost its load of bitumen, which sprayed across the road, and left the light pole in danger of collapsing.

VicRoads said just after 3pm that all lanes Greensborough bound had been reopened for the afternoon peak, with the speed reduced to 60km/h.
Two lanes in the Altona direction remained closed and the speed had been reduced to 40km/h, with the asphalt still on the road and creating an uneven surface for motorists.
VicRoads said delays were likely to continue throughout the afternoon.

Workers will remain at the crash site overnight to clear the road surface and replace the pole.
Earlier, a crane truck and sweeper worked to try and remove the damaged pole and clear the debris.
Drivers were urged to exit the freeway as soon as possible and take alternative routes such as Keilor Park Drive, Sharps, Mickleham and Sydney roads as delays built.
