Lachlan Humm fronts court on rape and stalking charges

An accused Melbourne stalker threatened a woman he allegedly raped that he would post videos of the vile attack online as her parents watch on in court.

Lachlan Humm has been committed to stand trial in County Court on charges of stalking, sexually assaulting and raping a woman and allegedly filming the sexual acts.

An accused stalker allegedly held a knife to a woman’s throat, raped her and filmed the ordeal, while also threatening to send his bikie friends around to deal with her, a court has heard.

Lachlan Humm, of Beveridge, has been ordered to stand trial in the County Court on 25 charges following a committal hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The woman’s parents were among witnesses who gave evidence on Tuesday against the 25-year-old facing charges including stalking, rape, sexual assault, using a carriage service to harass and theft.

It’s alleged that Mr Humm followed the woman in his car, tailgated her before driving in front of her and breaking suddenly in mid-2022.

It’s then alleged he threatened to inflict serious injury to the woman and “did intentionally apply force” for a non-consensual sexual act.

Mr Humm allegedly lifted his foot to “stomp” the woman’s face but stopped his foot “only centimetres from her face”.

The woman’s mother told the court that her daughter told her “very confronting” information that included Mr Humm allegedly striking, throwing her against a wall and raping her

“It didn’t end there. She said he filmed it. He told her to be quiet. He held a pillow to her face and knife to her throat,” her mother told the court.

“(He) told her that if she didn’t shut up, he would rape her anally and that would make her really scream. It went on and off for a good few hours. She was very afraid of her life.”

On another occasion after the alleged sexual acts, she said Mr Humm allegedly told her daughter that he would upload the filmed acts online and would send his bikie friends around.

Lachlan Humm will stand trial in County Court on a number of charges including stalking and rape.

The complainant’s father told the court that he received a frantic phone call from his daughter one evening when Mr Humm allegedly tailgated her.

“She was very frantic...she was actually screaming on the phone and said (he) was following closely and was being erratic and crazy.

“She said (he) was getting close and that ‘he will hit me, he will hit me’. I advised her to contact police.”

Defence lawyer Tim Glass did not call any witnesses. Magistrate Jillian Prior ruled that there was sufficient evidence for Mr Humm to stand trial. He was remanded on bail to appear in County Court at a later date.
