A man allegedly wanted on warrants jumped over a back fence to escape police in Wollert. He was then picked up in a car driven by a Thomastown woman, who went on to allegedly hit a police car while she was trying to get away.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police originally attended an address in Kopi Way, Wollert to arrest a man wanted on warrants just after 10am Monday.
She said the man allegedly jumped over a back fence and was picked up in a vehicle driven by a Thomastown woman.
As the woman allegedly attempted to evade police she collided with a police vehicle on Pine Park Drive causing minor panel damage.
It’s believed the pair then dumped their car and fled in another vehicle which was later found in Baltic Grove in Epping.
A search for the pair was conducted with the woman found hiding in bushes in the vicinity of Taggerty Grove.
The 28-year-old man was found shortly after.
Both remain in custody and are helping police with their inquiries.
