Another employee at a Victorian Costco has tested positive for coronavirus.
A worker at the company’s Epping warehouse who most recently worked there on July 19 between 10.45am and 3.45pm returned a positive test and staff were alerted on Saturday.
In a letter seen by the Leader, employees were told management would undertake “additional cleaning and sanitation protocols” however the store did not close.
Patrick Noone, Country Manager of Costco confirmed there had been another positive case at the Epping facility.
“As a company, as soon as we were made aware of this employee’s diagnosis, we immediately responded by informing the warehouse staff and directing them to take immediate appropriate action,” he said.
“Costco takes seriously our responsibility to maintain the health and safety of our employees and members. We continue to institute social spacing controls and provide PPE, including face masks, protective divider screens, gloves, and sanitiser in addition to enhanced cleaning and sanitising procedures.”
It comes after the Leader revealed a worker at Costco Moorabbin had tested positive and was working as a food sampler when they were asymptomatic.
Mr Noone told the Leader the sample stations would be “reduced” but not discontinued.
“(The food sampler) was wearing a protective mask and gloves while performing their duties,” he said.
Another employee at Costco Epping returned a positive test earlier this month after last working at the store on July 11.
