A DANGEROUS and confusing Coburg North roundabout will be replaced by traffic lights thanks to a $11.9 million upgrade from a re-elected State Government.
Pascoe Vale state Labor MP Lizzie Blandthorn announced the upgrade with Premier Daniel Andrews yesterday, to be undertaken should the Labor government be returned to power in the November state election.

The State Government estimates 31,000 cars use the roundabout on an average weekday and seven crashes occurred there between 2012 and 2017.
Problems at the intersection have increased since Coles was opened on Gaffney St in August 2015.
Ms Blandthorn said she had been advocating on the issue within Parliament for over two years.
“This is a common sense fix that will make the world of difference for the locals who use this intersection,” she said.
“For drivers, it will mean less time in traffic. For cyclists, it’ll mean a safer trip. And for families with kids at surrounding schools, it’ll mean greater piece of mind.”
Mr Andrews said the upgrade was important to the growing community at Coburg North.
