A 25-year-old Mildura man who was responsible for a one person crime wave during Christmas last year has pleaded guilty to his offending.
On Christmas Day last year, Steven Pappin stole a 2004 Holden Commodore, as well as causing $1000 worth of property damage.
Just a day later, Pappin stole a 2018 Hyundai iLoad van and a 2006 Toyota HiLux.
He topped off his Boxing Day exploits by stealing property to the tune of $5000 and making threats to kill.
He was also found in possession of methylamphetamine.
After spending 104 days in prison, Pappin was released under an 18 month community corrections order, which Magistrate Patrick Southey said contained “every possible condition”.
Pappin was also disqualified from driivng.
Mr Southey also strongly encouraged Pappin to seek help for his drug and alcohol addiction.
“Keep an open mind, speak to corrections about it, this is a great opportunity. Otherwise, you’ll likely end up back in jail,” he said.
“If you had not pleaded guilty it would have been six months imprisonment,” Mr Southey added when handing down his sentence.
