A Mildura man could be mistaken for the Grinch if allegations of a yuletide crime spree are proven.

Steven Pappin, 25, faced the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for an application hearing, accused of a one-man crime wave over the 2023 Christmas period.

On Christmas Day, Mr Pappin is alleged to have stolen a 2004 Holden Commodore as well as caused property damage to the tune of $1000.

He was charged with the theft of a Hi-Vis shirt and numerous driving offences.

Police then allege he stole two vehicles on Boxing Day — a 2018 Hyundai iLoad van and a 2006 Toyota HiLux — property worth upwards of $5000 and made threats to kill.

It is also claimed he was in possession of methylamphetamine.

Mr Pappin’s case was adjourned and he was remanded to return to court on March 4.
