Two men and a female accomplice are among those accused of seeking revenge on a man by luring him to an isolated location in Mildura and assaulting him with a deadly weapon.

The Mildura Magistrates’ Court heard Claudia Hartley allegedly lured the man to Old Mail Road on August 19 last year — a location some 60 minutes from Mildura CBD — under the pretence of having a 2004 Ford Falcon for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

When the would-be buyer arrived at the secluded location he noticed a white SUV pull up behind him, allegedly with Braedyn Parker and Jessy Brown inside.

Once the pair exited their vehicle, police claim the duo assaulted the man with a sawn off shotgun, hitting him with the barrel of the weapon while making claims about what he had done to their sister.

Despite his denials, the pair allegedly ratcheted up the assault, placing the weapon on the man’s shoulder and firing a blank cartridge, before allegedly hitting him one last time before the accused trio drove off in the two vehicles.

The trio was arrested on August 21.

The Ford Falcon was later found dumped and located in scrub by police at the corner of Cupper and Hogg roads on August 22.

The alleged victim was taken to hospital and needed nine staples to close a wound on his head.

He said the assault had an effect on his mental health, citing extreme anxiety since the alleged incident whenever he left the house.

It was claimed Hartley stole the money the victim had brought with him to buy the vehicle, believed to be $1400.

Hartley was convicted for her role in the vicious assault and fined $2000.

She also paid $1400 in restitution.

Mr Parker and Mr Brown will both reappear at Mildura Magistrate Court in a Koori Court hearing on Wednesday.
