An inspection of a Dareton house destroyed by fire will have to wait until there are no safety concerns with its damaged roof.
Emergency services responded to a Millie St property in the southwest NSW town after a call about 2.25pm on Thursday.
Rural Fire Service district manager Superintendent Steve Walker said firefighters put out a couple of small ignitions overnight, but an inspection of the building would be on hold until it was safe to be carried out.
He said there were concerns with what was left of the roof.
Supt Walker said on Thursday the house was “fully involved” when firefighters arrived, but neighbouring houses were spared damage.
“The house is totally destroyed,” he said.
“It was a good response, a quick time, they saved the adjoining properties from any impact, but the residence is destroyed.”
Supt Walker said all people were accounted for.
He said it was too early to know the cause of the fire.
Rural Fire Service units from Dareton, Buronga and Curlwaa responded, as well as Wentworth Fire and Rescue, with five trucks attending in total.
