Murray River death toll rises after man’s body found near Mildura
A man in his early 20s has become the latest victim of the Murray River this year, his body found near Mildura at the weekend.

The Murray River has claimed its fifth life in northwest Victoria this year after the body of a man in his early 20s was found near Mildura at the weekend.
A search for a missing swimmer began late on Friday, after a man was seen disappearing under water without resurfacing.
Officers from Barrier Police District responded to a call just after 5pm and received assistance from the State Emergency Service.
The search had to be suspended overnight before resuming Saturday morning.
A NSW Police statement said the body of a 21-year-old was found at 2.15pm that afternoon.
Sri Lankan media have reported the man was a Tamil student in Melbourne who was visiting Mildura for business reasons.
It continued a deadly year on the Murray River in northwest Victoria.
So far this year the river has claimed the life of a 21-year-old said to have fallen off a boat near Swan Hill, a fisherman near Euston, a 22-year-old water skier at Merbein Common and a visitor from New York at Mildura.
