Mildura mum Brodie Lee Marks has faced court and been sentenced for the mother of all crime sprees

A Mildura mum with an “obsession” for stealing cars also attacked a police officer and was busted with a stash of drugs during a wild crime spree.

A Mildura mother with an “obsession” with stealing cars has been jailed after a wild crime that included assaulting a police officer.

Brodie Lee Marks pleaded guilty in the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Monday after pleading guilty to more than 25 charges related to drug possessions, numerous motor vehicle thefts and assault.

Marks, 27, cut a stoic figure as she appeared via AV Link in court as Magistrate Michael Coghlan heard the charges against her.

“What is her obsession with stealing cars?,” Mr Coghlan remarked incredulously to Marks’ lawyer.

On top of her prison sentence Marks was also disqualified from driving for 18 months

The court heard that Marks stole four cars in 2023 — a Toyota Corolla stolen from a parking lot in Flemington, a Volkswagen Tiguan that was parked on Capel Street in North Melbourne, a Nissan Qashqai and a Holden Omega.

Upon searching the Holden Omega, police found 12.5g of methylamphetamine, seven ecstasy pills and tabs believed to be LSD.

Police also found half a litre of the drug GHB in a hotel room Marks was staying in.

It was also revealed in court she violently resisted arrest, resulting in officers having to use OC spray to restrain her.

Marks was also charged with stealing a number of licence plates and a bottle of Jack Daniels from an IGA supermarket in Ouyen. She was also found guilty of stealing three mobile phones and a soft drink from Cappy’s Corner Store in Mildura.

Marks was jailed for six months and disqualified from driving for 18 months.
