Three arrested in prestigious Melbourne suburbs for $50k baby formula heist

Thousands of dollars worth of stolen baby formula, booze and vitamins have been allegedly seized and three people arrested.

Investigators raided two properties on Victoria St, Abbotsford and Montrose St, Hawthorn East where detectives allegedly discovered a more than $60,000 in stolen goods at 11.30am on Tuesday, April 6.

Items seized included baby formula and vitamins worth an estimated $50,000, wine worth $10,000 and a large amount of cash.

A 37-year-old South Melbourne man was charged with committing an indictable offence while out on bail and seven counts of theft.

He appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A 44-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman both from Hawthorn East were released pending summons.
