Richmond crime: Lux Ducati motorbike stolen from Dover Street driveway

A pair of alleged thieves who brazenly wheeled a pricey motorbike straight out of the victim’s driveway have been caught on camera.

An early morning robbery left police stumped as investigators release images in a bid to catch a pair of thieves.

CCTV show the two men entering a Richmond property and stealing the 2008 red Ducati Hyper Mortado bike about 2.20am on March 16.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Nikki Ladgrove said the the footage showed the bike parked in the driveway before the two men arrived in the driveway.

“The pair wheeled the victim’s 2008 red Ducati Hyper Mortado bike out of the driveway before placing it in the back of a waiting white Toyota HiAce van,” she said.

The white van had fake numberplates, which had been cloned from an existing car.

Police have released images of two men police think can help with their inquiries.

The first man is described as Caucasian, about 180cm, medium build, in his 20s or 30s with brown hair.

He wore a black puffer jack, a black Aces cap, black shoes and grey pants.

The second man police want to speak with is described as having a large build, about 175m, and was wearing a black cap, black tracksuit pants and a black Under Armour jumper.

The community is urged to come forward with any information on the incident by contacting Crime Stoppers.
