An Irymple man with more than 30 years of driving offences to his name has been jailed after he was clocked doing 138km/h in a 60 zone after a night at the pub

Bradley Tynan, 51, was leaving the Irymple Hotel at 9.47pm on November 12, 2023, when police attempted to pull him over after discovering the black Holden Commodore he was driving was unregistered.

After feigning an attempt to pull over, Tynan tore off down the road at more than double the speed limit.

The police were able to identify the accused by CCTV footage taken at the hotel and arrested Tynan at his home after he refused to attend the police station for a blood-alcohol test.

Tynan was already on a community corrections order for drink driving offences.

In Mildura Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Tynan, through his lawyer, told the court he was seeking help for his alcohol addiction

Magistrate Michael Coghlan dismissed it, however, and highlighted Tynan’s rap sheet spanning all the way back in 1992.

“You are a man who has had multiple, multiple drink driving charges since the 90s,” Mr Coghlan said ahead of sentencing Tynan.

“You’re not a kid … you are aware of the consequences of this type of offending.”

After pleading guilty, Tynan was sentenced to four months in prison, disqualified from applying for a license for five years and fined $1250.
