A Mildura man accused of playing a part in a vicious alleged revenge attack that saw a man beaten, plied with drugs and held against his will has been denied bail.

Daniel Carter, 37, appeared before Mildura Magistrates Court from remand on Thursday.

Mr Carter faces a raft of charges related to the alleged incident including unlawful imprisonment, assault, theft, possession of GHB and cannabis, recklessly administering a drug without consent and possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license.

Police say Mr Carter and his alleged co-accused, Rianna Bashford, persuaded the victim to come to a Mildura address before allegedly holding him captive for more than 11 hours, beating him and plying him with the drug GHB.

The court heard a foldable iPhone firearm was involved in the incident.

Police allege Mr Carter pointed the weapon at the victim several times as he tried to escape the alleged ordeal.

The alleged attack only ended when the man gave into the accused bizarre request for his clothes and that he wash his arms.

Police vehemently opposed Mr Carter receiving bail saying he was known as a “violent offender” who used his “various violent crimes to fuel his drug habit".

The court ordered Mr Carter remain behind bars until his next court appearance on April 9.
