TWO men have been arrested, and three people remain on the run, after a terrifying carjacking and police chase across Melbourne’s southeast today.
Kingston crime investigation unit detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Ballas said the drama unfolded about 7am when a gang of five thugs approached a 55-year-old man while he was sitting in his car at Braeside Park on Lower Dandenong Rd.

One thug allegedly produced a box cutter and demanded the man get out of his car, before stealing it and driving off.
Shortly after police received reports of a car — believed to be the same one — driving erratically in Seaford.
When they tried to pull it over, the driver sped off with police in pursuit.
The car was later dumped in Darnley Drive in Skye, and two men ran away.
A Dingley Village man, 25, and a Skye man, 26, were arrested a short time later with help from the dog squad and air wing.
Both are in custody.
Police are still hunting a man, last seen driving a small white SUV.
Two women are also still on the run.
