A SCAPEGOAT goat didn’t kid around while being chased by local laws officers in Cranbourne North, butt they managed to catch him in the end.
The officers were sent after reports of a roaming goat near Courtenay Gardens Primary School.
The pursuit started on Hazelwood Ave when the goat disobeyed the crossing supervisor and broke into a run with officers hot on his tail.

The runaway goat, nicknamed Lebron, turned left into Courtenay Ave as he trotted past the school’s entrance while the council workers wove in and out of traffic trying to keep up.
The goat then ran through a roundabout without giving way, managing to shake the officers momentarily before being cornered in the driveway of a property not far from the school.
Casey local laws officer Nick Haviaridis, part of last month’s rescue crew, said he was surprised how fast the goat could move.
“Lebron led us on a merry chase, it took us nearly 20 minutes to corner and capture him,” he said.
“We had to use three different vehicles to run him down. Definitely a feisty character.
“It’s not unusual for us to get calls like this because our municipality includes both rural and suburban areas, animals can often roam onto local streets.”
Following unsuccessful attempts to locate the owner, Lebron has now been rehomed outside of Casey.
