A KARINGAL man has been dragged from his ute and kidnapped during a frightening road rage attack in Carrum Downs.

A KARINGAL man was dragged from his ute and kidnapped during a terrifying road rage attack in Carrum Downs.

The 31-year-old was driving to a friend’s house on Lyrebird Drive when a white 4WD with fog lights on pulled up behind him about 3am on June 3.

Two men jumped out, yelling and screaming, and began beating his ute with a weapon.

The man drove off but was chased down by the thugs, who drove over the median strip and rammed his vehicle.

The men then dragged him from his car, bashed and threatened to kill him, then threw him into the back seat of their 4WD and drove off.

“The victim managed to get out after a short distance and run to friend’s house in Lyrebird Drive,” detective Senior Constable Mark Garrett said.

The two men are described as caucasian and aged in their early 20s. One was about 185cm tall, of European appearance with dark hair and tattoos on one arm.

The other was about 175cm tall, stocky, with light brown or blonde hair.

Sen-Constable Garrett said they may have been doing burnouts in the area beforehand.

It’s the sixth disturbing road rage episode in the past few weeks after incidents in Port Melbourne, West Melbourne, Tullamarine, Sunbury and Gladstone Park.

“I find it absolutely stark raving bizarre that we’re in a first-world country, we’re not at war and some dingbats decide they need to go around clobbering one another,” Roads Minister Luke Donnellan said this week.
