A Bonbeach man says he is disgusted by cyclists who urinate on a tree outside his house in full view of his young children. But he’s come up with a solution to stop them taking nature breaks at the “prime location”.

A furious dad has hit out at bayside cyclists who are using a tree outside his home as their favourite toilet spot.

Romeo Busuttil said the “pee tree” is in full view of his lounge room window and even his children have commented on the riders’ behaviour.

“The cyclists sometimes queue up to urinate there,” he said

“My family and I can see the stream from our windows — it’s clear as day.”

The Bonbeach man, who has two children aged 7 and 10, said he’s been confronted by cyclists urinating outside his house on Station St since he moved into the area two years ago.

“My children have been completely grossed out, the cyclists are peeing in plain sight — they don’t even have the audacity to go behind the bushes,” Mr Busuttil said.

“It’s happening every weekend and on public holidays.”

Mr Busuttil said the cyclists had chosen the “prime location” to urinate as it was surrounded by large trees.

“There are public toilets in Bonbeach, Carrum and Chelsea, it’s seconds away but they keep peeing in front of my yard,” he said.

Mr Busuttil said he wanted cyclists to stop acting like “animals”.

“They think they own the road … they are constantly arguing with motorists outside my house.

“When I’m lying in bed I just hear them argue constantly — I’m disgusted and enough is enough.”

Mr Busuttil said he was so fed up he was going to ask Kingston Council to chop down the trees.

“If the trees are gone then it will force them to go elsewhere and actually use the toilets like normal human beings,” he said.

Bicycle Network chief executive Craig Richards said most cyclists did the right thing when on a ride, but asked the few people taking “nature breaks” in public to stop at a toilet.

“People should download the Australian Government’s National Public Toilet Map app to find an appropriate place to stop when on a ride,” Mr Richards said.
