A car parts and service garage has gone into liquidation after 18 years in Melbourne’s south, with the business, which specialises in Ford and Mercedes parts, plunging hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt.

A popular Ford and Mercedes parts and service garage in Melbourne’s south has gone into liquidation.
Following 18 years in the community, Telford Motors at 11 Mason Drive in Braeside is facing closure.
Owner Julie Telford said the “stressful” situation was a result of irreconcilable personal matters.

“The situation left us with no decision but to go into liquation — it’s been heartbreaking,” Ms Telford said.
The business specialises in supplying new and second-hand parts for Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter models to customers Australia-wide.
It also provides mechanical repairs, engine reconditioning, exhaust and brake services.
According to ASIC, the company resolved to enter into liquidation after a meeting held on Monday, April 8, with liquidator Con Kokkinos from Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountants.
Mr Kokkinos told the Leader the firm would carry out an investigation and report available assets and potential returns to creditors.
Ms Telford said the business had about $600,000 in outstanding debts.
“We’re waiting for the liquidator to sell the factory … the whole situation has been really stressful,” she said.
Ms Telford said the business had been a well-known part of the community for a long time.
“The business did so well for many years and it’s been a difficult time but I want to say thank you to all the customers for their support over the years,” she said.
