Patterson Lakes man caught allegedly speeding on Monash Freeway
A 19-year-old, who allegedly broke into a Hawthorn East home and allegedly stole several cars, then allegedly sped down the Monash Freeway at up to 200km/h this morning, police say.

A 19-year-old driver allegedly reached speeds of up to 200km/h on the Monash Freeway this morning after allegedly stealing cars in Armadale and Hawthorn East, police say.
The Patterson Lakes teen was spotted allegedly speeding along the freeway in a Mercedes, which was believed to have been stolen, about 1am before police caught up with him in Patterson Lakes about 1.45am.
Senior Constable Adam West said the man was arrested over an aggravated burglary and a series of car thefts.
Police are investigating the theft of a Jeep from an Armadale property on Monday night.

They believe the person responsible also broke into a property in Pleasant Rd, Hawthorn East early on Tuesday morning and stole the keys to a Mercedes.
The Mercedes was then stolen, but was not the same one the man was seen driving on the Monash freeway.
A 16-year-old girl, who was with the Patterson Lakes man, was also arrested.
