A man who flipped his car on the Monash Freeway, causing it to skid on its roof for about 60m, has managed to walk away injury free.
But the 45-year-old Mulgrave driver is expected to face charges over the incident, which occurred in Tooronga between Toorak and Burke roads about 3.45am.
Police believe the man’s Volkswagen Golf was allegedly travelling at about 100km/h hour in a 40km/h work zone when it clipped another car.
Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman said the man tested positive for methamphetamine after the crash.
She said he was suspended from driving and was expected to be charged on summons with drug driving and traffic-related offences.
WARRANDYTE SOUTH
A 27-year-old Ringwood man has been taken to The Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries after his Subaru ran off the road in Warrandyte South.
Nunawading highway patrol Sergeant Paul Egan said the driver was travelling at a high speed when he overtook another car on a bend on Croydon Rd about 4.39am, causing his car to veer off the road and bounce off two trees before coming to a stop back on the road.
Sgt Egan said the car was left with “massive damage”, while the other car avoided the incident.
KEW
Police found an abandoned, significantly damaged black Mercedes blocking a bike path in Kew about 4.45am on Sunday, December 1.
Nunawading highway patrol Sergeant Paul Egan said the car was found on the bike track nearby Guide Dogs Victoria and the Chandler Highway.

He said damage to nearby road signs indicated the car had come off of Eastern Freeway, but had failed to stop at the top of the off-ramp.
Police are calling for anyone with information about the incident to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
BURWOOD EAST
A man was knocked off his motorbike in Burwood East after a driver failed to see him.
Nunawading highway patrol Sergeant Paul Egan said a 25-year-old Burwood East woman turned right from Holbeach St, into New Haven Rd, and also into the 21-year-old motorbike rider about 10.50am on Monday, December 2.
The man received minor injuries, while the driver was given an infringement notice for failing to give way.
