Shepparton rapper Jai O’Donnell charged with armed robbery and assault
A Shepparton rapper known for playing gigs across Victoria has been accused of robbing a man of his backpack filled with drugs and cash at gunpoint.

A budding Shepparton rapper is facing serious criminal charges after he allegedly stole a man’s backpack at gunpoint.
Jai O’Donnell, 34, fronted Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on January 29 after he was
charged with armed robbery, assault, intentionally causing injury, affray, robbery and being a prohibited person to possess a firearm.
Charge sheets obtained by the Herald Sun also reveal the musician allegedly robbed a man’s backpack that contained a MacBook Pro, AirPods, night vision goggles, a Gucci shoulder bag and an unknown quantity of drugs and money valued at more than $8000.
It is alleged he robbed the man while he was holding a firearm and multiple bats.
The court heard the rap artist was also involved in an affray in a separate incident.
The details of Mr O’Donnell’s alleged offending were not aired to the court as his matters were adjourned by Magistrate Simon Zebrowski.
The budding rapper goes by the name “Jugada” and has an Instagram following of 16,500 followers.
He has played gigs across Victoria including at The Laundry Bar in Fitzroy and The Barwon Club Hotel in Geelong.
Mr O’Donnell is pictured in one photo with well known Australian rapper Kerser.
According to Spotify, his most popular song is called ‘Living The Dream’ and he has more than 2000 monthly listeners.
He will next face the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on March 7.
Mr O’Donnell will also face a committal hearing on April 16 on his more serious charges, which may then head to the County Court if a magistrate finds there is sufficient evidence against him.
