A group of men on a rampant bucks party have “disgraced” themselves at a Goulburn Valley pub, after they allegedly groped female staff and attempted to steal memorabilia from the venue.
A rowdy group of men entered the Caledonian Hotel in Murchison about 10pm on January 6, showing “no respect for anyone”, manager Sandra Reece said.
Ms Reece, who refused to serve the group, said even if they’d put $10,000 behind the bar their behaviour was deplorable.
Upon entering the premises, two men allegedly jumped behind the bar and attempted to serve themselves, with one quipping “I’ve got my RSA (Responsible Serving of Alcohol Certificate),” Ms Reece told the Herald Sun.
The manager then had to “push them out” of the bar.
Some of the men also allegedly intimidated the 18-year-old man working behind the bar, while a female member of staff was allegedly groped by one of the men.
One man apparently attempted to steal the pub’s famous grandfather clock, Ms Reece said.
Another man allegedly attempted to steal the pool cues, Ms Reece said.
Ms Reece said she asked the group where they were from, and one man replied “I’m a Murch (Murchison) boy”, to which she responded “how embarrassing for you”.
Before the group left Murchison, Ms Reece said she spoke to a middle-aged man who appeared to be in charge of the party bus.
“You are standing there, laughing and joking and condoning this behaviour, what sort of person are you?” she asked.
“You’re behaving like a bunch of f**ing two-year-olds.”
Ms Reece said she believed the group were locals to the Goulburn Valley.
She said the pub had received a phone call from a man on Sunday evening, apologising for the incident.
He didn’t leave his name.
The female staff are quite shaken up from the events, she said.
The group had previously been at a pub in Kyabram, Ms Reece said.
