A Tatura barfly has learnt his fate after he sexually assaulted two women.

Jason Michael Harman, 43, fronted the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on May 21, where he was sentenced to a two-year community corrections order over six counts of sexual assault.

On June 11, 2021, Harman entered the Lagozzinos Top Pub at 10pm, with witness Wayne Hill the only other patron in attendance, along with the two women, as well as the pub’s owner, Frank Lagozzino.

Harman, intoxicated on arrival, was “mucking around” with one of the women.

With the pub about to close, Mr Lagozzino drove Harman, the two women and Mr Hill to a residence nearby.

Harman invited himself into the residence for a few more drinks between 10.30pm and 11pm, before beginning to make lewd comments to one of the women, who was making him dinner, saying “I want to eat your p---y”.

Harman then made an attempt to kiss her, which she rejected, telling him she was in a relationship.

He did not stop there, as he began to physically touch the victim, caressing her back with his hands.

Despite the women rejecting his advances, Harman continued to sexually assault them.

Mr Hill and the other victim came back inside from out the back, and saw that the victim was rejecting Harman’s advances.

The victim then went out to the garage to fix her car, before Harman began advancing on her again, touching her breast and rubbing her vagina, before she pushed him off with her knee.

Despite continually rejecting her advances, Harman continued to push himself onto the victim back inside, pushing his erect penis against her backside.

The other woman told Harman to stop, but he did not, and as the first victim was having a cigarette outside, he attempted to grab her before falling over drunk into the concrete and smashing a beer bottle.

In the early hours of the morning, Harman began touching the second victim’s vagina over her clothing, despite her rejecting his advances.

This continued in the kitchen, and as she continued to reject him, Harman was incensed and angry, resulting in the victim trying to get him out of the house.

Harman was sentenced to a two-year community corrections order.

This woke up one of the other resident’s of the home, and Harman suffered serious injuries as a result of being kicked out of the house.

In a police interview on April 15, 2022, Harman called both the two victims and Mr Hill “three liars”.

Harman was convicted and must undergo alcohol abuse rehabilitation and men’s behaviour change program as part of his community corrections order.
