A Finley couple who were recently engaged are accused of raping and sexually assaulting a woman just months after celebrating the milestone.

A Finley couple are accused of raping and sexually assaulting a woman in Koonoomoo, just months after the pair got engaged.
Daniel Jones, 43, and Melissa Nixon, 37, are both charged with one count of rape and numerous counts of sexual assault.
The alleged offending occurred on June 25, 2023, just a few months after the couple got engaged in April.
The pair were charged on January 3, 2024 and fronted court for the first time on January 17.
According to their social media, Mr Jones works as an operator at Saputo Dairy Australia, but is on stress leave, while Ms Nixon is a stay at home mum.
They face a committal on October 10 at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court, which will determine if the matter will proceed to trial.
