A Seymour man accused of killing an Alexandra motorcyclist in an allegedly stolen car will contest the charges.
David Graham Berry, 42, appeared in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on October 8 for a committal mention.
It is alleged Mr Berry stole a white Ford Ranger from the Euroa ‘Middle Pub’ at 2.40pm on May 9 before his allegedly erratic driving killed a 56-year-old man coming the other way.
Mr Berry then allegedly fled the scene and was seen by locals trying to hitchhike a lift out of the area.
Following an extensive search, police found and arrested Mr Berry.
Mr Berry’s lawyer Kestin Mildenhall made an application to cross-examine Detective Senior Constable Katelyn Goldsworthy.
Mr Berry, who appeared via video link from the Melbourne Remand Centre, will next face court on February 5 for a contested committal.
He will remain in custody until then.
