A young woman’s dangerous driving resulted in a sickening collision that killed a five-year-old child and an unborn baby at a notorious intersection just outside Shepparton.
Chrystle Olivia Kemp, 27, pleaded guilty in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury following the horrific three-way pileup last year.
Kemp was driving a silver Toyota LandCruiser on October 20, 2023 when the car collided with a black Ford Territory and a White Toyota LandCruiser at the intersection of Old Dookie and Boundary roads.
Her passenger, Savannah Kemp, was in the LandCruiser, and died at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old pregnant woman was flown to hospital with serious injuries where her unborn baby – named Remi Matthew Aldridge – later died.
Savannah Kemp was remembered as a “beautiful daughter and sister” and hundreds flocked to her memorial service last year.
The other charges Kemp was facing were withdrawn.
Kemp, who appeared on crutches due to injuries sustained in the collision, was bailed to appear at the County Court by Magistrate Simon Zebrowski at a later date.
