The driver allegedly behind a horrific dual fatal crash in Shepparton East last October has fronted court.
Chrystle Olivia Kemp, 26, is facing charges including dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury following a horrific three-car pileup at the intersection of Old Dookie and Boundary roads on October 20, 2023.
Ms Kemp appeared in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court supported by family members, with some family also watching on via video link.
It is alleged a silver Toyota LandCruiser, a black Ford Territory and a White Toyota LandCruiser collided at the intersection of Old Dookie and Boundary roads about 2pm on October 20.
Ms Kemp was driving the silver Toyota LandCruiser.
Her passenger, five-year-old Savannah Kemp, was in the LandCruiser, and died at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old pregnant woman was flown to hospital with serious injuries where her unborn baby — named Remi Matthew Aldridge — later died.
Savannah Kemp was remembered as “beautiful daughter and sister” on a GoFundMe page that has raised almost $50,000 for Savannah’s mother and brothers.
Tributes flowed for Savannah and hundreds attended a memorial service organised last year.
Bryana Kemp, Savannah’s mother, was watching on via video link.
Both the prosecution and defence asked for a brief adjournment in the matter, which was granted by Magistrate Olivia Trumble.
Ms Kemp will next appear in court on April 16 for a committal mention.
Ms Kemp’s bail was extended.
