The way to someone’s heart is often through their stomach, and these Oakleigh brothers are here to save your Valentine’s Day.
Doughnuts shaped like roses and topped with delicious butter cream will be available for one-day only at The Oakleigh Doughnut Co on February 14.
The brains behind the dough-roses, brothers Yani and Nic Kabylakis have invested five different flavours and reasons for your valentine.

These include Love at First Sight, with a purple rose and filled with Nutella, or Love and Passion, with a red rose and filled with jam, or For a Soulmate, with a rainbow rose and filled with custard, Admiration has a pink rose with rose cheesecake, or Friendship with a yellow rose and filled with lemon curd.
Don’t worry, there are also options for vegans and those who can’t eat gluten.
“We reckon Valentine’s Day is a really special day of the year to show anyone what they mean to you, whether that’s a mum, partner, spouse or friend,” Yani said.
“We thought why not fuse the two together with doughnuts, something that almost everyone loves.”
While the dough-roses are a one-day only special, the Kabylakis brothers might consider making a couple of the flavours more permanent if they prove popular.
The pair expect to make about 2000 doughnuts on the day. Pre-orders are available for 12 doughnuts or more.
