Police have arrested a Goulburn Valley man after an alleged violent armed robbery in Melbourne’s east, while another suspect remains at large. Here’s the latest.

A man alleged to be responsible for an violent armed robbery at a bottle shop in Melbourne’s east remains at large almost a month after the incident which saw a shop worker hospitalised with serious injuries.
On Tuesday police confirmed in a statement they have arrested a 34-year-old man from Nagambie, in the Goulburn Valley, in relation to the alleged armed robbery, but are still on the hunt for the second suspect.
The alleged robbery occurred near the Blackburn and High Street roads intersection at Glen Waverley when a bottle shop owner was closing for the night on Sunday, June 16.
The Herald Sun previously reported the worker, a 48-year-old Mt Waverley man, refused to hand over cash to the alleged thieves, who were reportedly armed with a hammer and tyre iron.
Police will allege the two men assaulted the staff member before leaving empty-handed just before 9pm.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries however has since been released.
At the time, Monash detective Senior Constable Leah Gladstone said the worker’s severe facial injuries from the alleged attack would “stay with him for the rest of his life”.
“There’s not only the physical injuries but the emotional trauma this has caused is going to be something that’s with him for a very long time,” she said.
The Nagambie man has been charged with armed robbery, robbery and assault-related offences.
He is on remand and is due to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in September.
Detectives are still searching for a second man as part of their investigation.
