Former champion jockey Danny Nikolic and the ex-lawyer Pat Lennon lashed out at a news crew when they fronted a suburban Melbourne court.
Nikolic, dressed in a black turtleneck, and Lennon, wearing a hoodie and bag with writing on the strap stating “FXXkingrabbits” and “I just wanna fXXk you” fronted Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on Monday.
The pair had their respective cases adjourned until later in the year.
A Channel 7 journalist was allegedly nudged in the back by Lennon at the courtrooms' entrance.
The nudging caused the journalist, who had recently undergone surgery, to fall backwards and hit the ground.
Nikolic also allegedly called the journalist a “parasitic c--t” inside the courtroom.
While approaching court, Nikolic allegedly further lashed out at a Channel 7 camera operator, reportedly kicking out at his equipment.
Nikolic’s wins at the track in a career that stretched from the 1990s into the 2000s included the Caulfield Cup and the Turnbull Stakes.
Lennon represented Nikolic in a series of court cases in the mid to late 2010s during which the jockey failed to overturn a ban from riding slapped on him for threatening racing stewards.
The pair are also linked through their involvement in Argyle Lending, a high-interest lending business run by Lennon’s wife, Jane Lennon.
The Lennons were both lawyers until July this year, when they handed in their practising certificates amid an investigation into their behaviour by the Legal Services Commissioner.
Earlier this year, Lennon was charged with a string of offences over an alleged attempted burglary in South Yarra.
The house was reportedly occupied by a woman who was locked in a bitter legal dispute with him but no one was home at the time.
