Forest Hill dog walkers sick of finding human faeces at Davy Lane Park
For years, dog walkers have known of people treating their favourite Forest Hill park as a toilet. But it was the recent early-morning actions of a couple — and their response to being caught in the act — that left one regular park user seething.

Dog walkers are fed up with finding human faeces and soiled toilet paper in their favourite Forest Hill park.
They’ve been aware people have been treating the popular park as a toilet for years, but just weeks ago one of the park regulars caught a couple in the act, and was abused for calling out their filthy behaviour.
Isobel Leaman was walking her dogs about 7.45am on a Sunday in February when she saw a man and woman squatting with their pants down in Davy Lane Park.

Ms Leaman said she asked the pair, who she described as in their mid-50s and of Asian appearance, what they were doing and the man responded: “when you gotta go, you gotta go”.
When she protested their actions, Ms Leaman said she was verbally abused by the man, who yelled, “we do what we want here”.
She said she had since seen the man around Vermont South Shopping Centre.
Ms Leaman said she was sick of finding human waste at the park and around the nearby Whitehorse Horticulture Centre.
She said several others had found evidence of the same behaviour, including a woman working in the horticulture garden.
And another woman made a similar discovery just behind her property, which backs onto the reserve, Ms Leaman said.
Andrew Narozny is so fed up with his dogs emerging from the bushes covered in human faeces he has been posting signs around the park, stating “Do not defecate here! It is a public park!” in several languages.
Mr Narozny, who has been walking his dogs at the park every day for years, said human faeces, “usually accompanied by toilet paper”, had been appearing in the past four years.

“They bring their own toilet paper,” he said of the offenders. “They’re very organised.”
He said public urination had also been an issue, with a man spotted urinating against a power pole near the park just days after Ms Leaman saw the public defecators.
Forest Hill Acting Sergeant Sloane Willing said he would get more police to patrols the park to discourage the “ridiculous” behaviour.
“If there are any sightings, people should contact police so we can come down and investigate,” Sgt Willing said.
