Film buffs in Burwood East are in for a treat when Readings Cinemas opens their first Victorian Titan Luxe theatre there.
Six-screen, ‘gold standard’ complex will be located on the ground floor of the Burwood Brickworks shopping centre, now under construction near the corner of Middleborough and Boulevard roads.

Reading Cinemas Australia managing director Mark Douglas said it would include a “premium Titan Luxe auditorium” equipped with the newest sound system — the Dolby Atmost multichannel immerse sound.
All theatres will have reclining seats and more food and drink options.
It would be the chain’s “most advanced cinema complex ever”, Mr Douglas said.
The cinemas will be the area’s first since the Hoyts Burwood drive-in cinema closed in 1983.
Reading International chief executive Ellen Cotter said the company signing a contract with Frasers Property Australia, who is developing the shopping centre, in 2019 was hugely exciting.
“We are thrilled … to be finally delivering on the vision that my father and Reading founder, James J. Cotter, Sr., had to open a state-of-the-art cinema on the Burwood property,” she said.
“From service to presentation and curated programming, we are committed to creating a movie theatre that will set new standards for both this community and Reading.”
The cinema will open later this year.
