APARTMENTS could be introduced to a residential street in Burwood, with plans for a five-story block of flats awaiting approval.
A developer is proposing to demolish the single-story house and double-storey building at 47 and 49 McIntyre St to make way for 36 new apartments.
The building would host 24 two-bedroom apartments, nine one-bedroom apartments and three three-bedroom apartments.

Two basement levels would contain 46 carparking spaces, all allocated to the apartments, with no room for visitors’ cars.
The site is just 700m from Deakin University’s Burwood campus.
Land use in the immediate vicinity of the site is primarily residential in nature.
