MORE than 5600 people have registered their interest in potentially snapping up one of the 700 homes that will be built at the former Burwood Brickworks site.
The future homes have attracted strong interest from investors, but also from Whitehorse residents and those looking for their first home, developer Frasers Property has revealed.
Of the 5600 expressions of interest, more than 1500 have come from people planning to be owner-occupiers and more than 1350 of the inquiries have come from first-home buyers.

Frasers Property Australia general manager residential Victoria Sarah Bloom said the location of the development, 15km from the city, along with its “ambitious plans” was behind the high level of interest.
The 700 homes at Burwood Brickworks will be made up of a mix of freestanding and semi-detached terrace housing and apartments.
Ms Bloom said a selection of “exclusive land lots” would also go on the market.
