Thousands of foodies are sharing their tips on where to find Melbourne’s tastiest pork rolls.
Stefan Lauster created the Pork roll appreciation club on Facebook back in 2012, and it now has more than 35,000 members across Australia.
The page is all about “the search for the most succulent pork roll”.
“A place to post your succulent pork roll photos and rate your local pork roll bakeries/shops,” the page says.
“Does your town have the best pork rolls? Let the games begin.”
Mr Lauster, from Sydney, said the page brought together like-minded foodies that shared a love for Vietnamese banh mi, crunchy rolls or baguettes filled with pork or other meat, which have a cult following.
“Banh mi is popular because they are delicious,” Mr Lauster said.
“Everyone loves to review them and everyone has their own likes and dislikes about them; some people love coriander and some absolutely hate it.
“It really drives the discussion.
“I have been quite surprised by the way the page took off and have even noticed some spin off groups on Facebook and even Instagram now.
“People from all over Australia send in reviews and photos. It’s really quite amazing.”
