Yarragon: Man rushed to Dandenong Hospital after van collides with train in state’s east on Anzac Day

A man has been rushed to hospital after his van was badly damaged by a train at a level crossing in Yarragon.

A man is lucky to be alive after his van collided with a train in the state’s east on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services attended an incident at the Princes Highway and Rollo St intersection in Yarragon at 8.20am on Tuesday, where a delivery van collided with a V/Line train at a railway crossing.

The 23-year-old driver escaped with minor injuries and has been taken to Dandenong Hospital.

While the van was badly damaged, there were no injuries to the 100 passengers aboard the train.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
