South Gippsland Hwy between Stony Creek and Foster near Falls Rd closed due to truck rollover

A driver has escaped with minor injuries after his truck rolled on a country highway in Gippsland, where the road was blocked in both directions.

A driver has had a lucky escape after their truck rolled on a country highway in Victoria’s southeast.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Falls Rd between Stony Creek and Foster about 11am on Friday.

Nearby witnesses assisted at the scene and kicked the windscreen in to help free the driver, a man in his 60s, who sustained cuts and scratches.

He was taken to Bass Coast Health for medical treatment.

“Three CFA units from Meeniyan and Dumbalk attended the scene alongside Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police,” a CFA spokesperson said.

“Crews arrived to find fuel leaking onto the road, the highway remains blocked in both directions.”

Police advised motorists to use alternative routes.

The incident was deemed under control at 11.16am.
