A truck driver has sustained life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle collision on a busy highway in Victoria’s southeast.

A man has been flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a three-vehicle collision on a busy highway in Victoria’s southeast.
It is believed a truck was travelling along the South Gippsland Highway in Koo Wee Rup when it crashed into the back of a stationary truck just before 10am on Tuesday.
“A sedan travelling behind that truck then collided into the back of the vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.
“The male truck driver sustained life threatening injuries and was flown to hospital for treatment.”
The female driver in the sedan sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Her passenger, a three-year-old child, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver, a 30-year-old Pakenham man, was not injured and has been spoken to by police.
VicTraffic shared a Twitter post that said the highway between Monomeith Rd and Rossiter Rd has been closed and that emergency services have been redirecting traffic.
Motorists have been advised to use Koo Wee Rup-Longwarry Rd and Western Port Rd as alternative routes.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
