A motorcyclist has died in hospital following a collision with a ute in Victoria’s southeast.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the South Gippsland Hwy in Loch at 9.50am on Saturday where a motorcycle and ute collided.
A police spokesperson said the rider was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
“The driver of the ute stopped at the scene and has spoken with police,” the spokesperson said.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
It’s taken the state road death toll to 269 — 45 more lives lost on our roads than this time last year.
