Fireys respond to caravan fire in Heyfield and fire in Longford

The CFA was called to two fires in the state’s east on Wednesday including a caravan that went up in flames.

Fireys have been busy putting out two blazes in the state’s east.

Four CFA units were called to reports of a caravan fire on Licola Rd in Heyfield just after 11.30am on Wednesday.

A CFA spokesperson said the incident was under control by 11.51am and declared safe at 12.07pm.

CFA units from Longford and Sale also responded to a column of smoke on Zacher Rd in Longford just before noon.

Upon arrival crews discovered an incinerator on and it was declared save in 15 minutes.

The CFA urges everyone to prepare for the bushfire season as warmer weather approaches.
