A Cardinia man has been arrested after allegedly ramming into a police car on a busy Phillip Island road.

A man from Melbourne’s southeast has been arrested after he allegedly drove into a police car on a busy road in the Bass Coast.

A police spokeswoman said officers saw an unregistered vehicle travelling on Phillip Island Rd in Surf Beach just before midday on Thursday.

Officers attempted to pull over the driver, however it’s alleged he then rammed the police car and damaged the vehicle.

No one was physically injured.

A 27-year-old Cardinia man was arrested.
