Police and CFA called to house fire that spread to nearby grass in Drouin

A Drouin house has been engulfed in flames, with the suspicious blaze spreading to nearby paddocks.
Emergency services were called to a property near Weebar Rd about midday Thursday.
A CFA spokeswoman said 23 CFA vehicles responded and a large amount of black smoke could be seen in the area.
“The house was fully involved and the fire was spreading to nearby grass,” the spokeswoman said.
“Crews remain on scene.”
The incident was declared under control at 2.25pm and the spokeswoman said while there was no current threat to the community, people should stay informed and monitor conditions.

The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined and was being treated as suspicious.
Investigations remain ongoing.
A police spokesman said there were no injuries reported.
Crews remained on scene into the late evening.
