With three bachelors to choose from, Channel 10’s reality romance series has turned into a lucky dip for love.
Ten has revealed the first official picture of Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucelli, the trimmed up trio that the network hopes will turn lustful viewers on to The Bachelor this year.
In another change, The Bachelor will now be known at The Bachelors Australia.
Von Hofe, 27, a basketballer and marketing manager from Melbourne, McIntosh, 25, a drummer with the band Mood Monroe who grew up in Gippsland, and Malucelli, 35, a restaurant manager and lifestyle coach from Sydney are currently filming the show on the Gold Coast.
A self-confessed adrenaline junkie, Malucelli, who notes meditation and practising mindfulness as among his favourite pastimes, describes himself as a hopeless romantic.
Von Hofe is looking for a partner who makes him laugh.
“For me, the most attractive quality a girl can have is a good sense of humour. My dream date would be anything where it ends up hurting to laugh, because if we’re both laughing the whole time then it can’t get much better,” he said.
McIntosh, a heavily inked rocker who has rubbed shoulders with plenty of celebrities as a touring and session drummer and producer, is looking for a woman who is confident, passionate and ready to commit.
“A woman willing to find love on a public platform is the confidence I need in a partner,” he said.
The Bachelor needs to lift on its uninspiring ratings last season when the final, which saw Jimmy Nicholson pick Holly Kingston, drew just 629,000 overnight metro viewers.
That number was impressive compared to the grand final figures for Brooke Blurton’s season of The Bachelorette which saw just 439,000 overnight metro viewers tune in to see Blurton select Darvid Garayeli as her match.
The Bachelors Australia will air later this year on Channel 10.
