Awks.
Like “oh god” awkward, which were the exact words Jamie Kah used when images of her ex fiance were mistakenly broadcast for her new fiance on national television on Saturday.
But let’s back up.
Australia’s best female jockey was being interviewed by Channel 9 host and racing identity Francesca Cumani on Stakes Day as part of Nine’s Flemington coverage for the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Cumani was asking about Kah’s new fiance, jockey Ben Melham’s “pick up” ride on (now sadly retired) Stakes runner Pride of Jenni before the major group one race began and how excited he must be.
“He is very excited,” Kah said before the “oh god” as images of her and ex fiance Clayton Douglas in happier days flashed up on the national broadcast.
We told you awks.
Kah and fellow jockey and trainer Douglas broke up not long after the infamous Airbnb Mornington lockdown scandal in 2022 where Melham was also partying.
She and Melham announced their engagement in February.
The mixup clip has now done the rounds around racing types, which is not the first time a social media video of Kah has er, gone viral.
Nothing like an “oh god” moment to cap off a big Melbourne Cup Carnival!
