He used to police the streets as Detective Matt Ryan on homegrown crime drama City Homicide.

But actor Damian Richardson has turned his back on the boys in blue, emerging as one of the key speakers at Victoria’s anti-vaccine protests and calling his celebrity colleagues a bunch of sellouts.

The former Neighbours actor and one-time boyfriend of then co-star Fifi Box is using his oratorical skills to rev up the “freedom fighters” and anti-vaxxers on the steps of Spring St.

Facing the chanting “Freedom” crowd, Richardson took to the mic outside the steps of Parliament House for the Cafe Locked Out protests in front of mounted police.

“Farnham, where is he?” Richardson roars to the crowd.

“Where are all the celebrities? They are all on TV selling the vaccine. Sellouts. Good chance I won’t be working again in that industry. Well f … ‘em.

“Sometimes you just have to stand up for the truth. Come what may. Isn’t that right, my police brethren?”

It’s around this point you get the feeling Richardson is enjoying the feeling of being back on the boards as he whips the crowd into a frenzy.

In September, the 52-year-old actor, or “Gary from Neighbours,” vented his anger while attending a sit-in protest against “Vaccine segregation” along Acland street’s dining precinct in St Kilda.

This was after also attending the Shrine of Remembrance rally, where some protesters urinated on the war memorial.

Richardson was filmed launching into a verbal tirade condemning the different set of rules for the vaccinated and unvaccinated.

“We’re all becoming paranoid to walk down the street because this is what we’ll be met with,” he shouted, pointing at a nearby group of police officers.

Back to the steps of parliament last week and Richardson was on centre stage.

After sharing some predictable tales of nurses falling ill after getting a jab (why is it always the same unattributed story?) the former Blue Heelers actor calls out the Premier.

“Where are you Daniel Andrews” Richardson asks before referring to the incident where a Dymocks staff member was pushed down an escalator by a protester over QR check-in code.

“You can’t walk into Dymocks now without having a fight to buy a book,” Richardson says.

“All Dan wants to talk about is his little underground train. He is like a little f---king boy.

“He is spreading hate and division from the parliament of Victoria and we are spreading love and unity.

“Eventually history will judge them harshly and judge us well.

“Free Victoria. Free Victoria. What about a chant?

“You can stick your new world order up your arse ….

“You can stick your vaccine mandate up your arse….”

“You can stick Fiona Patten up your arse….”

Doesn’t sound like a whole lot of love and unity being spread there.

As the protesters say, shame!
