Kyle and Jackie O have opened up about their fair share of bad interviews in the past, but this one with a beloved actor was by far their “worst in the world.”

Australian radio host Kyle Sandilands has revealed a beloved Friends actor was the “worst interview in the world”.

On Monday’s Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM, the hosts revealed they’d banned US actor Matt LeBlanc – who played Joey Tribbiani on the ‘90s sitcom – from ever appearing on their show again after a horror chat with the star to promote his BBC Two show, Top Gear, in 2016.

“Remember when we had Matt LeBlanc on?” Sandilands said, scoffing. “And oh that didn’t go well.”

“That for was Top Gear years ago,” co-host Jackie O Henderson explained of LeBlanc’s hosting gig. “It was a terrible interview but he’s notoriously bad in interviews.”

Sandilands added: “Who cares, he was very arrogant and then he had to get hung up on and sworn at and then banned from ever coming back again. The worst interview in the world.”

The pair went on to mock LeBlanc’s famous Joey line: “How you doing?”.

“That gets old. You can’t just walk around ‘How you doing?’. It’s bulls**t,” Sandilands said.

“He should drop that line. That wasn’t funny that early,” Henderson added.

After the prerecorded interview with LeBlanc in 2016, Sandilands labelled him a “tosser” and an “a**hole”.

“The guy said about 15 words in the whole interview,” Sandilands said at the time.

It’s certainly not the first time the radio pair have opened up about difficult celebrities.

Last year, Sandilands called former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan an a**hole, saying he “hated him” after an awkward encounter on the red carpet many years ago.

Sandilands had asked Brosnan why there had been no Australians playing James Bond, but Brosnan pointed out there had been, with Australian actor George Lazenby playing the British agent in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969.

“(He gave) a long, toffee nosed answer and I thought, you know what? I can’t stand you mate. Hated him,” Sandilands said.

In 2019, the pair recalled a disastrous interview with actor Russell Crowe in the early 2000s but said they now considered the star a friend.

In 2015, Sandilands and Henderson said the worst person they had ever interviewed was US singer, Avril Lavigne.

“In the beginning she was really hard work,” said Henderson of an old interview, “And I do remember she came in the studio and she just wasn’t into it and she was sitting next to me and I asked her a question she just [huffed] and didn’t answer and then she was so difficult.

“She’s great now because she was just a kid back then.”
