TV’S favourite extreme fitness challenge, Ninja Warrior Australia, is officially moving to Melbourne.
The hit series is moving south after two seasons on Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour and will film in December.
While the network is staying tight-lipped on the location, it is understood the show’s mammoth set will be based in Melbourne’s inner west, but not at the showgrounds despite rumours.

Host Rebecca Maddern said she was delighted to welcome Ninja to her hometown.
“This show is not only great on TV, it is a great spectacle to actually witness live so I am really thrilled my fellow Melburnians will be able to get onto the course,” Maddern said.
She said the season 3 course would hold new surprises.
“There are some changes, some really exciting changes,” she said.
“I know a few of the Ninja’s have been training since the show filmed last year. I thought the season 1 athletes were amazing, season 2 blew me out of the water, season 3, hold on to your hat because I really think they are going to be extraordinary.
“We want somebody up Mount Midoriyama this season.”
Noise issues related to the show’s late night filming in Sydney led to Nine seeking a new home for their Ninjas.
